The Three Date Rule: Slow Onboarding for Vetting, Consent & Client Fit

What if client vetting wasn’t a single intake form or consultation, but an intentional process of getting to know one another?

In this workshop, I will share how I utilize a “Three Date Rule" -- three short virtual sessions to move from intake to relationship-building: exploring what brings a client to the work, establishing how consent and boundaries will function within our practitioner-client dynamic, and getting clearer about what the client actually needs. Participants will explore how a slower onboarding process can create more opportunities to observe how boundaries are communicated and respected, reduce pressure to move immediately into physical work, and give both practitioner and client meaningful opportunities to choose whether they want to continue.

I have been a professional cuddler for over four years with training from Cuddlist, CuddleSage and Cuddle Sanctuary. An Authentic Consent™ Trainer and Wheel of Consent® Facilitator-in-Training, and the founder of DC Cuddle Club. In all of my work, I center and uplift Black, POC, Queer, and gender-expansive individuals, couples, and communities through the transformative possibilities of practiced embodied choice.
